Research

Our goal:

Grow cassava plants with bigger storage roots by improving how they produce, move, and store energy

Our science focuses on:

  • Understanding how cassava plants distribute sugars and nutrients (source-sink balance)​

  • Using biotechnology and breeding techniques to optimize plant energy use

  • Developing new cassava varieties that need fewer inputs but produce better yields

We work with advanced tools like molecular biology, plant physiology studies, and greenhouse/field trials to test our ideas.
