Prof. Dr. Ekkehard Neuhaus
Ekkehard Neuhaus is head of the division of plant physiology at the Technische Universität Kaiserslautern (TUK). His group is interested in transport proteins in plants and bacteria. Special aspects are currently ATP transporters in plant plasma- and endomembranes, as well as sugar transporters in membranes of the plastid and vacuole. His aim is to understand transporter functions on the biochemical level (e.g. mode of transport, substrate specificity) and on the physiological level (implications of transporters for plant primary metabolism, development and adaptations). Energy and sugar transport | Stress physiology | Cassava

Dr. Leo Bellin
Leo Bellin is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the group of Ekkehard Neuhaus in the department of Plant Physiology at RPTU Kaiserslautern, Germany. Within the CASS project he is particularly interested in exploring source to sink transport mechanisms – mostly focusing on alterations in sugar and ion distribution. His aim is to improve plant growth under field conditions by altering sugar transport to strengthen source to sink interaction. Special focus is on the investigation of cassava under drought conditions to gain deeper insights into the stress response. Energy and sugar transport/ greenhouse trials / abiotic stress response / Cassava / Arabidopsis.

Michelle Fritzler
Michelle Fritzler is a PhD student in the group of Ekkehard Neuhaus in the department of Plant Physiology at RPTU Kaiserslautern, Germany. Within the CASS project she is particularly interested in exploring source to sink transport mechanisms – mostly focusing on alterations in sugar and ion distribution. Her focus is on phenotypical characterization of transgenic events under differing environmental conditions as drought stress. Energy and sugar transport/ greenhouse trials / abiotic stress response / Cassava / Arabidopsis.
